Spring is coming, let's have a climbing trip in Catalunya during ascension week. 8 days trip (including 2 week ends) end of May... We are already a few climbers ready to go (flight booked already :-) )
Montserrat is a major climb area near Barcelona: all routes you can dream of, from single pitch in all levels up to a several hundred meter multipitch climb, on towers and pinnacles of conglomerate mountain rock.
Lleida is another awesome climbing spot further away towards the Pyrénées mountains. It has the highest concentration of rock climbing areas in Catalunya, and such is recognised as one of the finest sport climbing venues in Europe.
If you want to join us ...
You can either climb independently (if you come with your climbing partner), or with us. If you climb with us, the possibility to join will depends on the number of lead climbers in the group. Depending also if you want to climb single pitch or multipitch routes. This will be finalized later, just RSVP first to let me know.
Requested experience (if you want to climb with some of us)
1) single pitch routes: Knowledge of the basics of belaying. Lead climbing experience is a plus.
2) multipitch routes: climbing regularly indoor. Having climbed several time outdoor this year. Knowledge of the multipitch basics (stand, belay etc ...). Low fear of height (It can't be zero I guess). Ability to climb the 5+ grade. Lead climb experience is necessary even if you don't lead climb the multipitch route.
From Eindhoven, there are direct flight to Barcelona (Girona) or Taragona (Reus) with Ryanair. From Ams, Vueling offers low fares flight. We fly on Sat 20/05 from Eindhoven to Taragona (Reus) and back on Sun 28/05
Transportation in Spain
We are aiming to try two different locations during the week, so we will rent a car. If you want to join us at the same time, we could rent a bigger car or 2 cars on the same contract and maybe make the price cheaper.
We aim to keep the trip flexible and choose depending how we like one place versus the other one. So accomodation will be camping.
If any questions, feel free to email me.
Looking forward to go climbing...
