Informations about climbing in Amsterdam and also looking for a partner

Hi,

I'm a french girl and I just arrived in Amsterdam... So I don't know how it's spend here to climb. In france we have to be subscribe in a club and after we can go in all places where we want to climb. Is it the same thing here? Or we can climb like we want but we have to pay each time we go in a climbing gym?

I'm also looking for a partner. I would like to climb once a week, I'm available each evening and also during the week end. So I don't have a special day to climb, the day you want will be good for me. My climb grade is 5b/5c/6a . I have my own climb materials. If someone is interested do not hesitate to contact me.

Bye

Mariette

All Walls are private and it depends on the owner what the policy is. I am not that familiair in Amsterdam nowadays, but in Haarlem you have show your abilities and than it is ok to climb. On USC you Will need à card that you passed à climbingtest.
Have fun!
Same story for Mountain Network and Sloterdijk.

My experience at USC is that you need to make an appointment with them to show your skills, then your name will be recorded. The next time, you only need to say your name when paying the entrance fee.

I usually climb 2-3 times a week, but I am going on holiday monday for 3,5 weeks. Just join the events if you don't have a climbng partner.

Hi Mariette,

I am also french and I climb in Sloterdijk, Centraal and THEA. No need for subscription. Just go to the wall and pay your entry fee.

I will be back in Amsterdam and climbing again on 6th February. Maybe we can hook up if you want.

Cheers

Celine

Same story for the hall near Central Station.. No need for a pass. They will just have a quick look to check your climbing skills. I'm climbing every tuesday at USC from 19.00 and every thursday at central station from 19.00. You are always welcome to join us!
