Alain Robert climb

Nice set of photos of Alain Robert's (aka "Spiderman") latest antics in Cuba.

It's not so much the climbing that makes me laugh as the look of horror on the spectators' faces (see photo 4 in this series).

Personally, I think I'll stick to the klimmuur.....

Hey Jen,
Glad to hear you are willing to give USC a try!
In terms of getting regstered/certified to climb there, the easiest thing to do would be to contact DANIEL (the Amsterdam Climbers administrator) and to ask him to please send an email to Bas Visscher (the USC Climbing Director) adding you to the USC climbing LIST. That's what Daniel has often already done for other Amber climbers.
Otherwise, you will have to set up an appointment with Bas first.... Though i'm not sure if Bas is at the climbing hall that early on Tuesdays.... Let me know how it goes with the regstration, then we can plan something more definte.
I'm looking forward to meeting you.
Cheers,
Angelica

hey jen, is it possible to climb earlier on in the day??

i am free on most tuesdays and thursdays (and every other friday) but my kids get out early from school at 2:15pm... thus i would need to leave the climbing hall by 1:30pm.....

that's also the main reason why i always do my daytime climbs at USC (at the University of Amsterdam campus at Science Park) since it opens as of 9am, and is also much much cheaper (i pay only €7)

see: http://www.usc.uva.nl/algemeen/sporten_en.php?sport_id=82

or http://amsterdamclimbers.com/page/indoor-climbing-walls-nederland

would you be interested in checking it out??  i like centraal, but it opens unfortunately too late for me to get any daytime climbing in....

cheers,

angelica

Very likely we are not going this weekend, but on monday evening. The parents of Nancy will visit Holland and, logically, she would like to spend some quality time with them. Ofcourse you are welcome to join on monday evening! :-)

He Jen

Italy was totally cool! (well actually 30 degrees) I really had a lot of fun and witnessed how Italians can party at weddings! ^_^ Luckily the bruises from Fontainebleau are almost gone now, but I hurt my pink last time during climbing :-/ Somehow I am doing well lately :p

I see that you also found your way here! :-) When are you going to climb again?

See you soon!

^_^

Welcome to our network,

I hope you find the time to look around our site, we've been up and running since 2009.

In particular check out the FAQ

You can also find us on FaceBook, YouTube, Vimeo and Twitter.

The heart of our network are the Events - we often have quite a few each week. The events are very informal, just RSVP and turn up - it's a great way to meet other climbers. Of course you're free to post your own events and you don't need a partner to join in.

We have a Gear section, as an Amber member you are entitled to a 15% discount at the Mountain Network Amsterdam. You can see their products in the Gear Portal.

As you can see we have been on a fair few Trips - read all about them in Trip-Logs section.

There are also 100's of photo's and regular discussions in the forums.

Recently we have added specialised Groups which you can find under the "About Us" tag. If you practice or are just interested in the group you should join so as to be kept in the loop on those subjects. If there are groups you would like to see then just let me know.

For more information, I've created a read-me explaining a little more how the network operates.

Feel free to ask if you have any queries/doubts and I hope to see you at an event someday,

Daniel.
